Files

Introduction

This document details the file management process, including firmwares and vendors, on the IXC ACS system. The Archives menu centralizes all files sent to IXC ACS, allowing efficient updating of connected equipment.

Access to the Form

Path: System Menu → Archives

Supported File Types

The system accepts files with the following extensions:.npk,.bin,.zip,.cfg,.tar,.conf,.img,.aes,.xml,.xlsand.bin0

Adding New File

  1. Click the button New File
  2. Fill in the fields:
  • Version: Enter file version
  • File Type: Select between Firmware upgrade image or Vendor configuration file
  • Tags: It is recommended to use the manufacturer's name for better organization
  • Files: Upload the desired file
Tip

Use manufacturer name tags to facilitate filtering in the device files tab.

Editing Files

  1. Click on the view icon in the action column
  2. On the editing screen, you can modify:
  • firmware file
  • Version
  • File type (if it is a firmware (Firmware upgrade image) or a Vendor (Vendor configuration file)
  • Tags (can be filled with the name of the manufacturer, so that in the device'sfiles tab, filter only the files that have the manufacturer's tag)

Removing Files

  1. Click the trash icon in the action column
  2. Confirm removal on confirmation screen Downloading Files
  3. To download files on the system, click on the icon represented by the arrow pointing down " If the file is not available for download, the corresponding button will not be displayed.

Filters

Use filters to search for specific files by:

  • Name
  • Version
  • File type

Best Practices

  1. Use consistent nomenclature for file versions
  2. Apply relevant tags to facilitate search and organization
  3. Regularly review the stored files to remove obsolete versions
  4. Keep a record of changes made to each file

Security considerations

  • Check file integrity before upload
  • Limit access to the Files menu only to authorized users
  • Perform regular backups of critical files

Troubleshooting

  • What? If a file does not appear after upload, make sure the file type is supported
  • What? In case of error while uploading, try to reduce file size or use a more stable connection.

Efficient file management in the IXC ACS is crucial to keeping network devices up to date and secure. Use the organization and search tools to optimize the firmware and vendor management process.
